  • KC EMC: Almost all electronic/electrical products (fundamental frequency >9kHz) exported to Korea require KC EMC certification. Exempt products include: air pump toys, power banks without RF functions, etc.
  • KC RF: Products with radio frequency functions.
  • KC Safety: Mandatory list products, commonly including AC-powered monitors/TVs, adapters, electric kettles and other small appliances.
  • KC Energy Efficiency: Mandatory list products, commonly including powered monitors/TVs, adapters, etc. Confirm whether E-standby or energy efficiency class applies.
  • Food Contact: Testing-based (not certification). Parts of products that may contact food or drinking water (e.g., kettles, air fryers) must be tested.
  • Cosmetics-Related: Products such as hand sanitizers, fragrance liquids, hand creams, and cosmetics have testing requirements.

KC EMC / RF 铭牌须包含：

KC EMC / RF Label must include:

KC Safety（参考强制清单）：

KC Energy Efficiency (refer to official classification):

  • E-standby: e.g., speakers
  • Energy Efficiency Level (MEPS): e.g., TVs
  • Ultra-high Energy Efficiency: some lighting products (most common products only involve the first two types)

KC EMC & RF:

  • Registration: Common EMC-only products and low-power devices such as WiFi and Bluetooth
  • Certification: Products requiring SAR testing, mobile phones, etc.
  • SAR 要求：使用距离20cm以内的产品，若功率超出限值，韩国要求测试SAR。
  • WiFi 2.4G 射频测试：只测试传导，不测辐射。
  • 适配器能效：即使适配器不单独出货，若产品附带适配器，需提供适配器的KC EMC、Safety、能效证书。
  • 锂电池：可充电锂电池属于KC Safety强制要求，产品内部锂电池需单独申请KC Safety证书。
  • SAR Requirement: Products used within 20cm must undergo SAR testing if the power exceeds the regulatory limit.
  • WiFi 2.4G RF Testing: Conducted testing only — radiated testing is not required.
  • Adapter Energy Efficiency: Even if the adapter is not sold separately, if the product is shipped with an adapter, KC EMC, Safety, and Energy Efficiency certificates for the adapter are required.
  • Lithium Battery: Rechargeable lithium batteries are subject to mandatory KC Safety requirements. Internal lithium batteries in a product must obtain a separate KC Safety certificate.
Q1：常见产品出口韩国要做哪些认证？

KC可认可模块的RF报告证书，但整机同样需要取证。模块有证书时可不测RF部分，只测RF EMC（类似301489标准）。注意：若模块取证时射频天线与整机不同，申请整机认证前需给模块报备天线，报备完成后才可提交整机认证申请，报备需模块厂配合签字提供资料。

韩国大部分WiFi、蓝牙规格的射频只测试传导。

Q5: Does Korean KC certification accept module certificates? Does the final product need separate certification?
KC can accept a module's RF report/certificate, but the final product still requires its own certification. With a valid module certificate, only RF EMC testing (similar to EN 301489) is needed — RF testing can be omitted. Note: If the antenna used during module certification differs from the final product antenna, it must be pre-registered to the module before submitting the final product application. This requires cooperation and documentation from the module manufacturer.

For most WiFi and Bluetooth specifications, Korea requires conducted testing only.
